Ninety Six Wildcats (Ninety Six, SC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Abbeville Panthers (Abbeville, SC), 17-1 in a league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they host Strom Thurmond for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 1. Ninety Six will face a Rebels squad coming off a 3-2 non-league loss to Saluda (Saluda, SC). The Rebels record now stands at 10-3.

With the loss, Abbeville falls to 5-6 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Mid-Carolina (Prosperity, SC) to face the Rebels in a AA Region 2 challenge on Wednesday, April 10. The Rebels enter the challenge with a record of 4-3. Mid-Carolina lost 15-3 in their recent league challenge against Ninety Six (Ninety Six, SC)
