Starmount Rams (Boonville, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC), 18-1 in a league challenge.

The Rams now own a 6-5 record. They take the field next when they host North Stokes for a Northwest 1A challenge on Friday, March 29. Starmount will battle a Vikings squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to South Stokes (Walnut Cove, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 4-5.

With the loss, Alleghany falls to 1-8 on the campaign. The Trojans host Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC) to battle the Granite Bears in a Northwest 1A challenge on Tuesday, April 2. The Granite Bears enter the challenge with a record of 0-9. Mount Airy lost 11-0 in their recent non-league challenge against North Surry (Mount Airy, NC)
