The Loyd Star Hornets softball team scored 13 runs and limited the visiting Bogue Chitto Bobcats to 2 in the Hornets league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, Loyd Star improves its record to 10-6 on the year. The Hornets travel to West Lincoln (Brookhaven, MS) to clash with the Bears in a 2A Region 7 game on Tuesday, April 2. The Bears come into the game with a record of 11-6. West Lincoln won 20-0 in their recent league game against Amite County (Liberty, MS)

In their next game, the Bobcats clash with the Amite County Trojans (Liberty, MS) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, April 2. Bogue Chitto will attempt to improve on its 1-6 season record. The Trojans come into the game with a 0-10 record after their 20-0 league loss to West Lincoln (Brookhaven, MS).
