Oak Grove Warriors (Hattiesburg, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Brandon Bulldogs (Brandon, MS), 9-7 in a league challenge.

The Warriors now own a 7-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Petal for a 7A Region 3 challenge on Tuesday, April 2. Oak Grove will face a Panthers squad coming off a 12-0 league win over Pearl (Pearl, MS). The Panthers record now stands at 13-5.

With the loss, Brandon falls to 9-8 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Madison Central (Madison, MS) to face the Jaguars in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 29. The Jaguars enter the challenge with a record of 7-9. Madison Central won 12-2 in their recent league challenge against Tupelo (Tupelo, MS)
