Cave City Cavemen (Cave City, AR) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Cedar Ridge Timberwolves (Newark, AR), 4-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Cavemen now own a 4-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Salem for a 3A Region 2 challenge on Monday, April 1. Cave City will face a Greyhounds squad coming off a 9-8 league win over Melbourne (Melbourne, AR). The Greyhounds record now stands at 5-0.

With the loss, Cedar Ridge falls to 4-4 on the campaign. The Timberwolves travel to Mt. Vernon-Enola (Mt. Vernon, AR) to face the Warhawks in a 2A Region 2 challenge on Friday, March 29. The Warhawks enter the challenge with a record of 1-2.
