Center Roughriders (Center, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Kilgore Bulldogs (Kilgore, TX), 9-6 in a league challenge.

The Roughriders now own a 8-15 record. They take the field next when they host Gilmer for a 4A Region III District 17 challenge on Tuesday, April 2. Center will face a Buckeyes squad coming off a 5-2 league win over Henderson (Henderson, TX). The Buckeyes record now stands at 13-10.

With the loss, Kilgore falls to 2-13 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Carthage (Carthage, TX) to face the Bulldogs in a 4A Region III District 17 challenge on Tuesday, April 2. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 16-11. Carthage won 11-0 in their recent league challenge against Spring Hill (Longview, TX)
