Fairfield Eagles (Fairfield, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Mexia Black Cats (Mexia, TX), 20-1 in a league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 12-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Teague for a 3A Region III District 20 challenge on Tuesday, April 2. Fairfield will face a Lions squad coming off a 14-4 league win over Elkhart (Elkhart, TX). The Lions record now stands at 9-8.

With the loss, Mexia falls to 0-11 on the campaign. The Black cats travel to Franklin (Franklin, TX) to face the Lions in a 3A Region III District 20 challenge on Tuesday, April 2. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 25-1. Franklin won 24-1 in their recent league challenge against Westwood (Palestine, TX)
