Rowan County Vikings (Morehead, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Fleming County Panthers (Flemingsburg, KY), 5-3 in a league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 7-1 record. They take the field next when they host Estill County for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 29. Rowan County will battle a Engineers squad coming off a 17-4 non-league win over Breathitt County (Jackson, KY). The Engineers record now stands at 3-6.

With the loss, Fleming County falls to 3-2 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Blazer (Ashland, KY) to battle the Tomcats in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 9. The Tomcats enter the challenge with a record of 2-3.
