Harlan County Black Bears (Harlan, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Middlesboro Yellowjackets (Middlesboro, KY), 7-4 in a league challenge.

The Black Bears now own a 2-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to South Laurel for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 29. Harlan County will battle a Cardinals squad coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to Pulaski County (Somerset, KY). The Cardinals record now stands at 6-3.

With the loss, Middlesboro falls to 4-3 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets travel to Barbourville (Barbourville, KY) to battle the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 8. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 1-7. Barbourville lost 6-4 in their recent league challenge against Pineville (Pineville, KY)
