Leesville Wampus Cats (Leesville, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host LaGrange Gators (Lake Charles, LA), 14-7 in a league challenge.

The Wampus Cats now own a 5-13 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hicks for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 29. Leesville will battle a Pirates squad coming off a 7-1 league win over Pitkin (Pitkin, LA). The Pirates record now stands at 9-6.

With the loss, LaGrange falls to 2-13 on the campaign. The Gators travel to Washington-Marion (Lake Charles, LA) to battle the Charging Indians in a 4A District 3 challenge on Tuesday, April 2. The Charging Indians enter the challenge with a record of 4-11. Washington-Marion lost 22-1 in their recent league challenge against Rayne (Rayne, LA)
