Northwestern Huskies (West Salem, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Waynedale Golden Bears (Apple Creek, OH), 15-4 in a league challenge.

The Huskies now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Louisville for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 29. Northwestern will face a Leopards squad coming off a 12-3 non-league win over Ellet (Akron, OH). The Leopards record now stands at 3-0.

With the loss, Waynedale falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Golden bears travel to Tuslaw (Massillon, OH) to face the Mustangs in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 30. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. Tuslaw lost 5-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Louisville (Louisville, OH)
