Weslaco Panthers (Weslaco, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host San Benito Greyhounds (San Benito, TX), 18-3 in a league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 20-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Harlingen for a 6A Region IV District 32 challenge on Tuesday, April 2. Weslaco will face a Cardinals squad coming off a 17-7 league win over Los Fresnos (Los Fresnos, TX). The Cardinals record now stands at 16-9.

With the loss, San Benito falls to 7-11 on the campaign. The Greyhounds host Hanna (Brownsville, TX) to face the Golden Eagles in a 6A Region IV District 32 challenge on Tuesday, April 2. The Golden Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 6-12. Hanna won 3-2 in their recent league challenge against Rivera (Brownsville, TX)
