The Coventry Oakers baseball team scored 9 runs and held the visiting East Greenwich Avengers to 0 in the Oakers non-league win on Friday.
The Oakers now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Westerly for a Division 1 test on Tuesday, April 1.
With the defeat, East Greenwich drops to 1-1 on the year. The Avengers host Prout (Wakefield, RI) to clash with the Crusaders in a Division 2 test on Saturday, March 29. The Crusaders go into the test with a record of 0-0.
