The Burns Bulldogs edged the visiting East Rutherford Cavaliers soccer team by a tally of 1-0 in Friday's non-league game.
Next, the Bulldogs face the East Gaston Warriors (Mt. Holly, NC) in a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A game, on Tuesday, April 1. Burns will attempt to advance on its 4-6 season record. The Warriors enter the game with a 4-4 record after their 9-0 league win over Cherryville (Cherryville, NC).
The Cavaliers (4-8) will now prepare for their game against Brevard (Brevard, NC). The Blue Devils enter the Mountain Foothills Seven 1A/2A game with a 6-2 record. In their last game, Brevard held off Enka (Enka, NC), 3-0, in a non-league game.
