Texas High School Softball - Mathis edges Taft

The crowd at Friday's league bout between the Mathis Pirates (Mathis, TX) and the visiting Taft Greyhounds (Taft, TX), observed Mathis's softball team get by Taft by a tally of 4-2.

The Pirates (10-6) will now prepare for their bout against George West (George West, TX). The Longhorns go into the 3A Region IV District 29 bout with a 4-14 record. In their last bout, George West by Odem (Odem, TX), 4-0, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Greyhounds clash with the Aransas Pass Panthers (Aransas Pass, TX) in a 3A Region IV District 29 bout, on Tuesday, April 1. Taft will attempt to advance on its 13-8 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 6-10 record after their 13-3 league win over West Oso (Corpus Christi, TX).
