Hays Hawks (Buda, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Bowie Bulldogs (Austin, TX), 5-1 in a league challenge.

The Hawks now own a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Akins for a 6A Region IV District 26 challenge on Friday, April 1. Hays will face a Eagles squad coming off a 10-7 league win over San Marcos (San Marcos, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 5-5.

With the loss, Bowie falls to 13-6 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Austin (Austin, TX) to face the Maroons in a 6A Region IV District 26 challenge on Friday, April 1. The Maroons enter the challenge with a record of 4-3. Austin won 4-1 in their recent league challenge against Westlake (Austin, TX)
