East Central Hornets (Moss Point, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Gautier Gators (Gautier, MS), 13-0 in a league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 11-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to George County for a 5A Region 8 challenge on Wednesday, March 30. East Central will battle a Rebels squad coming off a 12-2 non-league loss to D'Iberville (D'Iberville, MS). The Rebels record now stands at 8-7.

With the loss, Gautier falls to 1-8 on the campaign. The Gators host Vancleave (Vancleave, MS) to battle the Bulldogs in a 5A Region 8 challenge on Thursday, March 31. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 11-6. Vancleave lost 6-2 in their recent non-league challenge against West Lauderdale (Collinsville, MS)
