North Carolina High School Softball - Purnell Swett bounces Lumberton

Purnell Swett Rams (Pembroke, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Lumberton Pirates (Lumberton, NC), 11-1 in a league challenge.

The Rams now own a 9-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Gray's Creek for a United Eight 3A/4A challenge on Friday, April 1. Purnell Swett will battle a Bears squad coming off a 7-2 non-league win over Hoke County (Raeford, NC). The Bears record now stands at 9-1.

With the loss, Lumberton falls to 9-3 on the campaign. The Pirates host Cape Fear (Fayetteville, NC) to battle the Colts in a United Eight 3A/4A challenge on Friday, April 1. The Colts enter the challenge with a record of 10-1. Cape Fear lost 6-0 in their recent league challenge against Gray's Creek (Hope Mills, NC)
