Maiden Blue Devils (Maiden, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Newton-Conover Red Devils (Newton, NC), 16-1 in a league challenge.

The Blue Devils now own a 6-4 record. They take the field next when they host St. Stephens for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 31. Maiden will battle a Indians squad coming off a 18-0 league win over Statesville (Statesville, NC). The Indians record now stands at 7-2.

With the loss, Newton-Conover falls to 0-3 on the campaign. The Red devils host West Caldwell (Lenoir, NC) to battle the Warriors in a Catawba Valley Athletic 2A challenge on Friday, April 1. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 4-7. West Caldwell lost 9-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Patton (Morganton, NC)
