West Springfield Spartans (Springfield, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Woodson Cavaliers (Fairfax, VA), 11-6 in a league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they host South County for a Patriot challenge on Friday, April 1. West Springfield will face a Stallions squad coming off a 6-3 league win over Robinson (Fairfax, VA). The Stallions record now stands at 4-0.

With the loss, Woodson falls to 0-3 on the campaign. The Cavaliers travel to Gar-Field (Woodbridge, VA) to face the Red Wolves in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 4. The Red Wolves enter the challenge with a record of 1-0.
