Normal University Pioneers (Normal, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Lanphier Lions (Springfield, IL), 19-0 in a league challenge.

The Pioneers now own a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Glenwood for a Central State Eight challenge on Thursday, March 30. Normal University will face a Titans squad coming off a 10-0 league win over Jacksonville (Jacksonville, IL). The Titans record now stands at 5-0.

With the loss, Lanphier falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Lions host Knoxville (Knoxville, IL) to face the Blue Bullets in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 1. The Blue Bullets enter the challenge with a record of 4-0.
