Smithson Valley Rangers (Spring Branch, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the host Wagner Thunderbirds (San Antonio, TX), 2-1 in a league test.

With the win, Smithson Valley upgrades its record to 20-5 on the season. The Rangers host Canyon (New Braunfels, TX) to battle the Cougars in a 5A Region IV District 26 test on Tuesday, April 9. The Cougars come into the test with a record of 12-6.

With the defeat, Wagner falls to 13-14 on the season. The Thunderbirds host Seguin (Seguin, TX) to battle the Matadors in a 5A Region IV District 26 test on Tuesday, April 2. The Matadors come into the test with a record of 5-15. Seguin won 2-1 in their recent league test against Tivy (Kerrville, TX)
