Belgreen Bulldogs (Russellville, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Red Bay Tigers (Red Bay, AL), 8-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 9-11 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cherokee for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 30. Belgreen will battle a Indians squad coming off a 5-4 league loss to Waterloo (Waterloo, AL). The Indians record now stands at 14-8.

With the loss, Red Bay falls to 13-10 on the campaign. The Tigers host Winston County (Double Springs, AL) to battle the Yellowjackets in a 2A Area 13 challenge on Tuesday, April 2. The Yellowjackets enter the challenge with a record of 16-4. Winston County won 6-5 in their recent league challenge against Tharptown (Russellville, AL)
