The Mountain View Yellowjackets got by the visiting Hoxie Mustangs softball squad by a count of 5-4 in Friday's league battle.

The Yellowjackets (4-4) will now prepare for their battle against Newport (Newport, AR). The Greyhounds go into the 3A Region 2 battle with a 2-8 record. In their last battle, Newport nudged Cave City (Cave City, AR), 10-3, in a league battle.

The Mustangs now sport a 1-6 record. They play next when they travel to Tuckerman for a 3A Region 2 battle on Monday, April 1. Hoxie will meet a Bulldogs squad coming off a 15-0 league win over Sloan-Hendrix (Imboden, AR). The Bulldogs record now stands at 8-4.
