Middlesex Chargers (Saluda, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Lancaster Red Devils (Lancaster, VA), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Chargers now own a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they host West Point for a Tidewater challenge on Tuesday, April 9.

With the loss, Lancaster falls to 1-4 on the campaign. The Red devils host Arcadia (Oak Hall, VA) to battle the Firebirds in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 2.
