Southern Alamance Patriots (Graham, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting South Granville Vikings (Creedmoor, NC), 12-9 in a non-league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 8-1 record. They take the field next when they host Orange for a Central 3A challenge on Tuesday, April 2. Southern Alamance will face a Panthers squad coming off a 18-6 non-league win over Southeast Alamance (Haw River, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 6-1.

With the loss, South Granville falls to 4-5 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Vance County (Henderson, NC) to face the Vipers in a Northern Lakes Athletic 2A/3A challenge on Tuesday, April 9. The Vipers enter the challenge with a record of 6-1. Vance County won 17-4 in their recent league challenge against Carrboro (Carrboro, NC)
