In Saturday's league game, the host Slaton Tigers baseball team scored a close 7-6 win over the Friona Chieftans.

The Tigers (4-11) will now prepare for their game against Dimmitt (Dimmitt, TX). The Bobcats go into the 3A Region I District 2 game with a 8-8 record. In their last game, Dimmitt was tipped by Littlefield (Littlefield, TX), 6-3, in a league game.

Next, the Chieftans play the Muleshoe Mules (Muleshoe, TX) in a 3A Region I District 2 game, on Monday, March 31. Friona will attempt to improve on its 2-13 season record. The Mules go into the game with a 8-9 record after their 10-1 league loss to Idalou (Idalou, TX).
