The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Knott County Central Patriots (Hindman, KY) and the host Martin County Cardinals (Inez, KY), observed Knott County Central's softball team prevail over Martin County by a tally of 17-8.

The Patriots (3-4) will now prepare for their bout against Cordia (Hazard, KY). The Lions go into the District 53 bout with a 0-2 record. In their last bout, Cordia was routed by Buckhorn (Buckhorn, KY), 15-0, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Cardinals clash with the Portland Christian Eagles (Louisville, KY) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, April 3. Martin County will attempt to upgrade on its 4-4 season record. The Eagles go into the challenge with a 7-4 record after their 12-8 non-league loss to Elliott County (Sandy Hook, KY).
