Branford Buccaneers (Branford, FL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Taylor County Bulldogs (Perry, FL), 5-1 in a league challenge.

The Buccaneers now own a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bronson for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 4. Branford will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 8-7 non-league win over Saint Francis Catholic (Gainesville, FL). The Eagles record now stands at 2-2.

With the loss, Taylor County falls to 3-1 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Fort White (Fort White, FL) to battle the Indians in a 1A District 6 challenge on Tuesday, March 8. The Indians enter the challenge with a record of 1-2. Fort White won 3-1 in their recent league challenge against Branford (Branford, FL)
