Southern Choctaw Indians (Gilbertown, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Choctaw County Tigers (Butler, AL), 18-16 in a league challenge.

The Indians now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Sweet Water for a 1A Area 4 challenge on Monday, March 7. Southern Choctaw will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 6-4 non-league loss to T.R. Miller (Brewton, AL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 3-2.

With the loss, Choctaw County falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Millry (Millry, AL) to battle the Wildcats in a 1A Area 4 challenge on Tuesday, March 8. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 1-1.
