Whittier Cardinals (Whittier, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting El Rancho Dons (Pico Rivera, CA), 1-0 in a league challenge.

The Cardinals now own a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they host San Fernando for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 5. Whittier will face a Tigers squad coming off a 6-4 non-league win over Knight (Palmdale, CA). The Tigers record now stands at 2-0.

With the loss, El Rancho falls to 3-7 on the campaign. The Dons host La Serna (Whittier, CA) to face the Lancers in a Del Rio challenge on Tuesday, March 8. The Lancers enter the challenge with a record of 3-5. La Serna won 12-0 in their recent league challenge against Santa Fe (Santa Fe Springs, CA)
