Hickory Grove Christian Lions (Charlotte, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Queen's Grant Stallions (Matthews, NC), 8-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Lions now own a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they host Concord Academy for a NICSAA Metrolina challenge on Monday, March 7. Hickory Grove Christian will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 15-0 non-league loss to High Point Christian Academy (High Point, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, Queen's Grant falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Stallions host Langtree Charter (Mooresville, NC) to battle the Lions in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 4. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 0-2. Langtree Charter lost 35-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Sun Valley (Monroe, NC)
