West End Patriots (Walnut Grove, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Locust Fork Hornets (Locust Fork, AL), 6-3 in a non-league challenge.
The Patriots now own a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Southeastern for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 8.
With the loss, Locust Fork falls to 0-3 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Southeastern (Remlap, AL) to battle the Mustangs in a 2A Area 11 challenge on Monday, March 7. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 1-2. Southeastern won 8-0 in their recent league challenge against Cleveland (Cleveland, AL)
