Cumberland Academy Knights (Tyler, TX) fans were thrilled Friday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Van Vandals (Van, TX), 2-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Knights face the Athens Hornets (Athens, TX) in a 4A Region 2 District 14 challenge, on Tuesday, March 7. Cumberland Academy will attempt to better on its 2-7 season record. The Hornets enter the challenge with a 9-8 record after their 5-2 league win over Brownsboro (Brownsboro, TX).

The Vandals now have a 6-6 record. They take the field next when they host Lindale for a 4A Region 2 District 14 challenge on Tuesday, March 7. Van will face a Eagles team coming off a 1-0 league loss to Bullard (Bullard, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 16-4.
