The Watauga Pioneers baseball team scored 10 runs and limited the visiting A.C. Reynolds Rockets to 9 in the Pioneers non-league victory on Wednesday.
The Pioneers (8-3) will now prepare for their match against Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Patriots go into the Northwestern 3A/4A match with a 5-7 record. In their last match, Freedom was edged by R-S Central (Rutherfordton, NC), 11-3, in a non-league match.
The Rockets (5-6) will now prepare for their match against North Buncombe (Weaverville, NC). The Black Hawks go into the The Mountain 3A/4A match with a 3-9 record. In their last match, North Buncombe was edged by West Henderson (Hendersonville, NC), 16-1, in a non-league match.
