In Thursday's league game, the host Jenkins County War Eagles baseball team scored a tight 3-2 victory over the Portal Panthers.
The War Eagles (9-12) will now prepare for their game against Montgomery County (Mt. Vernon, GA). The Eagles go into the 1A D-II Area 3 game with a 3-14 record. In their last game, Montgomery County was edged by McIntosh County Academy (Darien, GA), 13-1, in a league game.
The Panthers (7-9) will now prepare for their game against Emanuel County Institute (Twin City, GA). The Bulldogs go into the 1A D-II Area 3 game with a 14-6 record. In their last game, Emanuel County Institute tipped Savannah Country Day (Savannah, GA), 12-0, in a non-league game.
