East Wilkes Cardinals (Ronda, NC) fans were pleased Thursday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting North Stokes Vikings (Danbury, NC), 2-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Cardinals confront the Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, March 31. East Wilkes will attempt to better on its 2-8 season record. The Cougars enter the challenge with a 8-1 record after their 3-1 non-league win over A.L. Brown (Kannapolis, NC).

The Vikings now have a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they host South Stokes for a Northwest 1A challenge on Tuesday, April 4. North Stokes will confront a Sauras team coming off a 3-0 league win over Starmount (Boonville, NC). The Sauras record now stands at 2-6.
