Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the visiting South Brunswick Cougars (Southport, NC), 8-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Pirates confront the Hoggard Vikings (Wilmington, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A challenge, on Monday, April 3. Topsail will attempt to better on its 7-3 season record. The Vikings enter the challenge with a 7-2 record after their 0-0 non-league Charlotte Latin (Charlotte, NC).

The Cougars now have a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they host New Hanover for a Mideastern 3A/4A challenge on Monday, April 3. South Brunswick will confront a Wildcats team coming off a 2-0 league win over North Brunswick (Leland, NC). The Wildcats record now stands at 3-2.
