The Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) soccer nudged the host St. Stephens Indians (Hickory, NC), 2-1 in Thursday's non-league bout.

With the win, Watauga moves its record to 4-2 on the campaign. The Pioneers travel to Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC) to battle the Huskies in a Northwestern 3A/4A bout on Tuesday, April 4. The Huskies go into the bout with a record of 8-0. Ashe County won 3-0 in their recent non-league bout against Surry Central (Dobson, NC)

In their next game, the Indians battle the Statesville Greyhounds (Statesville, NC) in a Western Foothills 3A bout, on Friday, March 31. St. Stephens will attempt to move on its 4-2 season record. The Greyhounds go into the bout with a 0-5 record after their 5-0 league loss to North Iredell (Olin, NC).
