The Carlsbad Cavemen softball team scored 19 runs and limited the visiting Artesia Bulldogs to 1 in the Cavemen non-league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, Carlsbad moves its record to 12-2 on the year. The Cavemen host Clovis (Clovis, NM) to clash with the Wildcats in a 5A District 4 game on Monday, April 10. The Wildcats come into the game with a record of 2-10.

In their next game, the Bulldogs clash with the Gallup Bengals (Gallup, NM) in a non-league game, on Saturday, April 1. Artesia will attempt to move on its 6-4 season record. The Bengals come into the game with a 6-8 record after their 14-12 non-league win over Rio Rancho (Rio Rancho, NM).
