Atkins Camels (Winston-Salem, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Ben L. Smith Golden Eagles (Greensboro, NC), 16-1 in a league challenge.
The Camels now own a 4-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mount Tabor for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 12.
With the loss, Ben L. Smith falls to 0-6 on the campaign. The Golden eagles host Rockingham County (Wentworth, NC) to battle the Cougars in a Mid-State 3A challenge on Tuesday, April 4. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 8-2.
