Bethel Bruins (Hampton, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Phoebus Phantoms (Hampton, VA), 13-6 in a league challenge.

The Bruins now own a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they host Denbigh for a Peninsula challenge on Tuesday, April 11. Bethel will battle a Patriots squad coming off a 20-2 non-league loss to King's Fork (Suffolk, VA). The Patriots record now stands at 2-5.

With the loss, Phoebus falls to 1-8 on the campaign. The Phantoms host Heritage (Newport News, VA) to battle the Hurricanes in a Peninsula challenge on Tuesday, April 11. The Hurricanes enter the challenge with a record of 0-5. Heritage lost 26-7 in their recent league challenge against Woodside (Newport News, VA)
