Jefferson Davis Volunteers (Montgomery, AL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Lee Generals (Montgomery, AL), 17-16 in a league challenge.

The Volunteers now sport a 2-9 record. They take the field next when they host Prattville for a 7A Area 3 challenge on Tuesday, April 4. Jefferson Davis will face a Lions squad coming off a 4-3 non-league loss to Auburn (Auburn, AL). The Lions record now stands at 14-16.

With the loss, Lee falls to 2-6 on the campaign. The Generals host Lanier (Montgomery, AL) to face the Poets in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 4. The Poets enter the challenge with a record of 0-2. Lanier lost 15-0 in their recent league challenge against Wetumpka (Wetumpka, AL)
