Meadowbrook Monarchs (Richmond, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Petersburg Crimson Wave (Petersburg, VA), 23-10 in a league challenge.

The Monarchs now own a 1-4 record. They take the field next when they host Hopewell for a Central challenge on Tuesday, April 11. Meadowbrook will battle a Blue Devils squad coming off a 14-0 league loss to Colonial Heights (Colonial Heights, VA). The Blue Devils record now stands at 1-5.

With the loss, Petersburg falls to 0-5 on the campaign. The Crimson wave travel to Huguenot (Richmond, VA) to battle the Falcons in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 12. The Falcons enter the challenge with a record of 3-0.
