The West Ouachita Chiefs softball team scored 8 runs and limited the visiting Ruston Bearcats to 0 in the Chiefs league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, West Ouachita moves its record to 9-5 on the year. The Chiefs host Pineville (Pineville, LA) to play the Rebels in a 5A District 2 game on Tuesday, April 4. The Rebels come into the game with a record of 15-5. Pineville won 13-0 in their recent non-league game against Ouachita Christian (Monroe, LA)

In their next game, the Bearcats play the Haughton Buccaneers (Haughton, LA) in a non-league game, on Friday, March 31. Ruston will attempt to move on its 3-15 season record.
