The crowd at Saturday's non-league match between the Winfield Generals (Winfield, WV) and the host Independence Patriots (Coal City, WV), saw Winfield's softball squad achieve victory over Independence by a count of 20-12.

The Generals now sport a 4-6 record. They take the field next when they host Buffalo for a non-league match on Monday, April 1. Winfield will face a Bison squad coming off a 10-2 non-league loss to Riverside (Belle, WV). The Bison record now stands at 1-5.

With the loss, Independence falls to 7-5 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Bay (Bay Village, OH) to face the Rockets in a non-league match on Tuesday, April 2. The Rockets enter the match with a record of 0-1. Bay lost 12-2 in their recent league match against Lakewood (Lakewood, OH)
