The Pinecrest Patriots softball squad (Southern Pines, NC), was edged 22-21 in Monday's non-league contest with the host Montgomery Central Timberwolves (Troy, NC)

With the triumph, Montgomery Central improves its record to 7-3 on the year. The Timberwolves travel to Central Davidson (Lexington, NC) to face the Spartans in a PAC Seven 4A/5A contest on Tuesday, March 31. The Spartans enter the contest with a record of 10-2. Central Davidson lost 4-1 in their recent non-league contest against East Forsyth (Kernersville, NC)

The Patriots now hold a 6-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Overhills for a Mid-South 7A/8A bout on Tuesday, March 31. Pinecrest will clash with a Jaguars team coming off a 12-2 non-league loss to Union Pines (Cameron, NC). The Jaguars record now stands at 6-6.
