The Jefferson Democrats held off the visiting Dr. Maya Angelou Community Phoenix volleyball team by a score of 3-2 in Thursday's league test.
The Democrats now have a 7-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Manual Arts for a Exposition test on Tuesday, April 5. Jefferson will confront a Toilers team coming off a 3-0 league loss to Math & Science College Preparatory (Los Angeles, CA). The Toilers record now stands at 5-5.
The Phoenix (1-9) will now prepare for their test against Santee (Los Angeles, CA). The Falcons enter the Exposition test with a 1-13 record. In their last test, Santee was nudged by Los Angeles (Los Angeles, CA), 3-0, in a league test.
