Garrard County Golden Lions (Lancaster, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Estill County Engineers (Irvine, KY), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Golden Lions now own a 4-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to North Laurel for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 1. Garrard County will face a Jaguars squad coming off a 10-4 non-league loss to Pulaski County (Somerset, KY). The Jaguars record now stands at 2-4.

With the loss, Estill County falls to 5-3 on the campaign. The Engineers host Perry County Central (Hazard, KY) to face the Commodores in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 2. The Commodores enter the challenge with a record of 7-0. Perry County Central won 10-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Letcher County Central (Whitesburg, KY)
