Ponchatoula Green Wave (Ponchatoula, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Fontainebleau Bulldogs (Mandeville, LA), 8-7 in a league challenge.

The Green Wave now own a 20-7 record. They take the field next when they host Gulfport for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 1. Ponchatoula will battle a Admirals squad coming off a 7-4 league win over Harrison Central (Gulfport, MS). The Admirals record now stands at 11-6.

With the loss, Fontainebleau falls to 5-5 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Slidell (Slidell, LA) to battle the Tigers in a 5A District 6 challenge on Tuesday, April 5. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 7-9.
